How we are helping to change the world for the better

At TBL Plc we pride ourselves on being a company that brews high-quality beer from the best possible natural ingredients, which are locally sourced and hence provide sustainable job opportunities across the value and supply chains.

Embedding sustainability, social impact in our communities and good governance is not only good for our business, it’s the foundation of our company and our purpose, which seeks to create a future with more cheers.

ETHICS AND TRANSPARENCY

Ethical and transparent behaviour is key to building trust with stakeholders, both internal and external, and to building a company that lasts. TBL’s Board of Directors and our leadership team are therefore committed to reinforcing our stance on conducting business to the highest standards of ethical behaviour and transparency.

This guides everything that we do as an organisation and serves as our foundation for creating a Future with More Cheers. Our approach to ethics and transparency covers all aspects of our business operations, from how we source our ingredients to occupational health and safety and stakeholder engagement.

Safety first is a paradigm lived at TBL Plc

TBL Plc adheres to the Tanzania Occupational Health and Safety Act 2003. Each facility maintains pre-existing conditions to keep its compliance certificate valid. Furthermore, TBL Plc employs qualified OHSE personnel to look after day-to-day OHS compliance. The team also sets directives for employees and hired contractors.

The respective safety departments are equipped with the necessary manpower and sufficient tools to smoothly manage OHS-related programmes. Continuous improvements are well managed through stakeholders’ involvement and engagement. We partner with contracted vendors to execute the safety targets that are set for individual departments and vendors across our sites. A risk assessment is normally performed on every task, piece of machinery/ equipment and facility work area.

TBL Plc facilities are deeply embedded in the surrounding communities. Hence, we conduct daily inspections of our hazardous substances’ infrastructures (NH3 and CO2). Vessels and systems integrity are inspected to ensure that there is no chance of accidental release that might extend further and impact the community. To enhance community relations, TBL Plc facilities partner with community members, government institutions and other stakeholders during exhibitions of various safety campaigns and maintain regular two-way communications on OHS-related matters. Furthermore, an annual security risk assessment is conducted that covers all potential threats arising from the lack of maintaining safe facilities.
